So I was off the grid for about 10 days and upon my return I find all sorts of fun conspiracy theory stuff to talk about. There's nothing we science-denying, conspiracy kooks like more than some disinformation we can use to convince ourselves we're right. Today will be a quickie taking a look at our friends over at Pfizer. For those out there who just cannot wrap their brains around the fact that drug companies couldn’t possibly care less about you and are only interested in making money; and who really believe that Pfizer in particular deserves the many billions of dollars they’re making from the vaccine that doesn’t work, this one’s going out to you.
For those unfamiliar, way back in 2009 (my bold) “In the largest health care fraud settlement in history, pharmaceutical giant Pfizer must pay $2.3 billion to resolve criminal and civil allegations that the company illegally promoted uses of four of its drugs...” Probably just some paperwork oversight on Pfizer’s part. In their zeal to help save humanity, they just went a little overboard, that’s all.
Now we get this report from the UK
“£70 million in fines for pharma firms that overcharged NHS”
Some details:
“After reassessing part of the case, the CMA has found that Pfizer and Flynn abused their dominant positions to overcharge the NHS for a life-saving epilepsy drug…Pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Flynn fined £63 million and £6.7 million respectively…NHS costs for the drug rose from £2 million to £50 million in a single year... CMA CEO: “Phenytoin is an essential drug relied on daily by thousands of people throughout the UK to prevent life-threatening epileptic seizures. These firms illegally exploited their dominant positions to charge the NHS excessive prices and make more money for themselves – meaning patients and taxpayers lost out.”
To be clear, this was a PURPOSEFUL maneuver by Pfizer (Flynn got the drugs from Pfizer and just followed Pfizer’s lead) to gouge people on a life-saving anti-epileptic drug.
“The firms de-branded the drug, previously known as Epanutin, meaning it was no longer subject to price regulation and the firms could set prices at their discretion. Given Pfizer and Flynn were the dominant suppliers of the drug in the UK at the time, the NHS had no choice but to pay the inflated final price for this important anti-epilepsy medicine.”
How do you explain that? If you still believe that this vaccine (have I mentioned it doesn’t work?) will save your life or that Pfizer or Fauci or Biden care about you at all, you’re the problem. But don’t worry, a new “booster” is on the way…that one will definitely work. DEFINITELY.
By the way, just about a year ago today, right in the middle of people losing their jobs, their schools, and sometimes even their families because they didn’t want Pfizer’s vaccine which doesn’t work (you know, when this was a "pandemic of the unvaccinated"?), we saw this headline “Pfizer Offers $345 Million to Settle Out of EpiPen Pricing Lawsuit” OK, nobody actually SAW the headline (I wonder why), but it seems “…Pfizer and its subsidiaries, hope to skip the trial in favor of a proposed settlement to resolve the lawsuit. A cool $345 million from Pfizer should do the trick, if the federal judge approves.” Let’s see, make billions by gouging, pay millions in fines and payoffs. How do I get that job? Hey, how many of you heard this story on CNN or MSNBC? Didn’t think so.
Ah, it’s good to be back.
