So I’m sure by now you’re aware of this report from the US Department of Energy finding that the evil “novel” coronavirus, that after three full years has been responsible for at the outer limits of reality the deaths of perhaps 0.3% of Americans, came from a “lab leak”. By the way, that means that the “survival” rate of COVID, which was going to kill everyone, for the country is about 99.7%. And for anyone even remotely healthy, that survival rate is 100%, so maybe we all need to reflect on the hysteria we unleashed on our world for something as deadly as the seasonal flu. I wasn’t going to write about this because, who cares? Is this really news? Are there really still people out there who believe this thing came from a “wet market”? But as the last few days passed, I noticed something interesting about the coverage of this pronouncement from our friends in the mainstream media.
As you might expect, it’s been a balls-out, full-speed-ahead, fire-everything-you-got attack. Now I’ve written about this before but thought this would be a good time to once again ask the question “why?”.
As I’ve asked before, why this militant opposition to even allowing for the possibility that this virus came out of a lab? Would knowing this frankenvirus escaped from a high-level bioweapons lab make anyone less “scared” of it than if they believed it was a “natural” occurrence? I am personally much more frightened by some virus that has been gain-of-functioned to make it more transmissible and deadly than of something that was transmitted from some other animal; we’ve been dealing with those kinds of viruses forever and we’ve done pretty darn well with them, thanks.
So if you have a legit idea as to why the government, the corporate media, and big tech have been so adamant that this was not a lab leak I’d love to hear it. I’m a pretty bright fellow and I cannot for the life of me figure it out. The only thing I can come up with is that the realization that the COVID pandemic was caused by Anthony Fauci and his ilk; that they broke US law and engaged in the type of biological weaponization that is the stuff of horror movies, might make some people look bad and that perhaps these people (and there are way more of them than just Tiny Tony) might somehow be held accountable for what they did. Or perhaps it was a purposeful release in an attempt to “reset” the world. Well beyond my paygrade.
If not for Jon Stewart screwing his buddy Stephen Colbert on Colbert’s own show almost two years ago by expounding on the obvious, one still might find oneself in the pillory (commonly confused with “stocks”) in the town square, or worse, sent off to the cornfield, because you had the temerity to suggest the possibility that maybe the virus escaped from a lab.
As we enter the next phase of this pandemic - the discovery, accountability, and punishment phase - we must not forget what we allowed our overlords to do to us. What POSSIBLE reason could there be for their unwavering anit-lab-leak position other than their attempt to hide their own crimes? There is no other explanation that makes sense to me. But again, anyone who cares to enlighten me, it would be appreciated.
