SENATE SAYS WHAT?

11/3/22

So you may have missed this one but the US Senate just published a paper entitled “An Analysis of the Origins of the COVID-19 Pandemic” It didn’t get a whole lot of attention, and if you can find something about it, it is being touted as a “Republican” publication, even though the chair of the committee that produced it is a Democrat. The reason it has not gotten much attention is because it concludes (my bold) “…the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 that resulted in the COVID-19 pandemic was most likely the result of a research-related incident.” That means a lab leak. Surprise, surprise.

Now to be fair, the authors do state “This conclusion is not intended to be dispositive.” meaning the evidence for a lab leak is substantive but not absolutely conclusive. I have read the paper and I encourage you to do the same. It’s a pretty easy read and can be found here https://www.help.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/report_an_analysis_of_the_origins_of_covid-19_102722.pdf and the evidence is, in my opinion, overwhelming.

Things like “The identity of SARS-CoV-2’s intermediate animal species remains unknown” and “While it is likely that SARS-CoV-2 originated from a bat virus, most likely one found in horseshoe bats residing in Southern China or Southeast Asia, it remains unknown how SARS-CoV-2 traveled more than 1,000 miles from Southern China or Southeast Asia before emerging in Wuhan” and “Almost three years after the COVID-19 pandemic began there is still no evidence of an animal infected with SARS-CoV-2, or a closely related virus, before the first publicly reported human COVID-19 cases in Wuhan in December 2019” or my favorite “Environmental samples collected between January and March 2020 at the Huanan Seafood Market from countertops, fridges, gloves, and other surfaces tested positive for SARS-CoV…none of the animals at the market when it was closed, in the market’s supply chain, or in China’s animal farming industry were infected with SARS-CoV-2.”

Combine this stuff with a genetic look at the virus itself (no way it’s natural) and it’s a pretty easy conclusion to be drawn that this coronavirus came out of a lab. But unless some Chinese technician from the Wuhan lab of coronavirus pandemic-makers stands up and tells us what happened, we may never have definitive evidence. So we’ll probably always have people of opposite opinions (another surprise) as to where the ‘vid came from.

But here’s a question from a different angle. Why the attempted complete shutdown of anyone who even questioned whether this was a lab leak or not? Why were we not allowed to discuss this possibility? Every person, from QAnon kooks to previously well-respected doctors and scientists, was sent to the cornfields for even raising their hand to ask a question. Why was that?

What I’m curious about is what possible difference it would have made as to public health policy if this escaped from a lab or not. That knowledge wouldn’t have changed how people reacted to the presence of a virus that was sure to kill every life form on earth. It's not like if we found out it escaped from a lab people wouldn't have allowed themselves to be controlled the way they did. If by April of 2020 you had a sock crazy-glued to your face, were wearing gloves and carrying around a six-foot stick to ensure “social distancing”, were washing your mail and sanitizing your groceries in a China Syndrome-like decontamination booth, and had taken up residence deep under you bed, would you have abandoned those “safety” measures if you knew the virus came out of a lab instead of a bat? Certainly not. In fact the thought of a man-made, genetically engineered virus is much scarier than a plain old bat virus.

So why such a censorious environment? It was absolute and it was brutal. NOBODY was even allowed to discuss the possibility and if you tried you were called every name in the book (including, for reasons unclear, a racist). The origin of the virus would have had no effect on how society reacted to it as a potential health threat. The government FORCED masks on us, they FORCED lockdowns on us, they FORCED social distancing on us, they FORCED vaccines on us; why would any of that, or the reactions of either the compliant or defiant been any different if we knew the virus escaped from a lab? So the only logical answer is that it WAS a “gain-of-functioned” man-made, genetically manipulated virus, and as this was supposed to be illegal stuff maybe Tony Fauci and his cabal of ne’er-do-wells weren’t so keen on being outed. This seems to be the only logical answer for all the attempted cover-up. If you have a better explanation I’d love to hear it. In any event, chalk up another point for the conspiracy crackpots; yesterday’s anathema is today’s Senate conclusion.

Anyway, of course this came out of a lab. My guess is we won’t get that admission until after Anthony Fauci is dead or too decrepit to be held accountable for his actions. Time will tell.
