DID WE "FOLLOW THE SCIENCE"?

Updated: Jun 14, 2022

So there’s a phrase we’ve all become much too familiar with over the past two and a half years. While our overlords have been hiding behind this catchphrase since Anthony “The Science” Fauci went from no masks to all masks all the time essentially overnight with nothing more substantive than his best Bart Simpson impression (Bart’s catchphrase being “Cowabunga!) to justify his edicts, there have been many folks since the beginning of this thing tilting at windmills trying to get people to see that the Emperor has no clothes. Alas, a great many Americans fell prey to the idea that “science” would win the day, and why wouldn’t they? Our medical “experts” know what they’re doing. Of course we all know now that is not the case. Pretty much everything we were told we MUST do to save humanity has been proven to be not only ineffective or useless but often potentially more harmful than the virus that shall not be named itself. NONE of it was ever based in ANY SCIENCE. Do you know that to this very day the federal government (CDC) has not conducted any clustered randomized control trials on mask usage or lockdowns or social distancing or anything else. How do you explain that? How is that possible? How does one "follow the science" when there is NO actual science?

Anyway, what we all should have learned from this pandemic is that if you are depending on the medical system and our government health “experts” to save you, you will be failed more often than not. While it is crystal clear that, after advanced age, general health risks like obesity, diabetes, and hypertension (all related by the way), are the most dangerous risks for death from COVID, we still have not heard one peep from Fauci or Walensky, or Biden or anyone else about you getting healthier to mitigate your risk from coronavirus. How do you explain that?

As to “following the science” it is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.

Think I’m crazy? A guy who’s not a “real doctor” and has no business commenting on the state of medical “science”? A guy who should “just stay in his lane”? Well let’s try this again (my bolding):

“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as editor of The New England Journal of Medicine”. So Dr. Marcia Angell who spent twenty years as the editor of the most prestigious medical journal on earth said this (in 2009). Legit now?

“The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness” This quote is from Richard Horton (2015) who has spent the last 25 years as the Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet which is a top 10 (perhaps top 5) medical journal in the world. Legit now?

How about this one?

“There is increasing concern that most current published research findings are false…Simulations show that for most study designs and settings, it is more likely for a research claim to be false than true. Moreover, for many current scientific fields, claimed research findings may often be simply accurate measures of the prevailing bias.” This is a quote by John Ioannidis (2005), perhaps the most respected and prestigious voice in the fields of evidence-based medicine and epidemiology in the world. Is that legit?

The Emperor has, in fact, no clothes at all. If you’re not healthier and stronger now than you were two years ago, that’s on you. Learn this lesson. The mainstream medical community is wrong on most things. Even the World Health Organization says that 7 of the top 10 causes of death are from non-communicable diseases. That’s stuff like heart disease, diabetes, and dementia; all due in large part to lifestyle. Diabetes deaths are up a whopping 70% in the last twenty years. If that’s not a big enough canary in the coalmine I don’t know what is. You better start taking better care of yourself. You’re your only hope. Remember these quotes the next time you hear the medical "experts" telling you what to do.
