So you may have seen the New York Times piece yesterday that told us that reaching herd immunity in the U.S. is “unlikely” and that the evil coronavirus “will most likely become a manageable threat that will continue to circulate in the United States for years to come, still causing hospitalizations and deaths but in much smaller numbers.” In other words, the virus will become “endemic” which is a fancy word that “experts” use for the virus just becoming a regular part of society like the seasonal flu virus or any number of other viruses including coronaviruses. Of course some of us have strayed from our assigned lanes and have been telling you for months and months that’s exactly what would happen but I will admit I had to call Anthony Fauci to find out what the word “endemic” meant because I’m not smart like he is.
Anyway, the piece goes on to blame our impotence in attempting to eradicate the virus on two familiar players: the scary “variants” and the lack of vaccine participation. And then the requisite push to vaccinate the young, stating “Though children spread the virus less efficiently than adults do, the experts all agreed that vaccinating children would also be important for keeping the number of Covid cases low. In the long term, the public health system will also need to account for babies…” Of course we all “know” that if the “experts all agreed” (“all” of them, really?) then this is the unquestionable truth and just as soon as the “experts” are done experimenting on children and babies your kids and grandkids will be “eligible” to receive the jab. Can’t wait!
But not so fast. Let’s take a breath please and look at some numbers (yeah I know, that pesky SCIENCE AND DATA again). Let me say before you read any further (or is it farther? no, it’s definitely further), that I am not telling anyone to not get the vaccine. I don’t need the FBI breaking down my door at the crack of dawn because someone thought I was disseminating bad information that would end up killing people. We good? Good. OK, here’s what you should consider before you offer up your children to the gods of “science”.
For kids ages newborn to 17, their risk of being hospitalized due to COVID stands at about 0.003%. THAT’S THREE ONE-THOUSANDTHS OF ONE PERCENT. Their risk of death stands at about 0.0003%. THAT’S THREE TEN-THOUSANDTHS OF ONE PERCENT. First, when have you ever in your life for one moment been concerned about such infinitesimal risks? Those risk numbers are effectively zero. Second, how much more “protection” could your child possibly be offered by a vaccine when the initial risk is zero? Even if it cut your child’s risk in half, half of nothing is still nothing. Everything we do in life is a cost/benefit calculation and here you’re dealing with a group of people with a zero risk of harm from the virus and essentially a zero benefit to be possibly derived through vaccination. So why do it?
But wait, we’re told the real reason you need to vaccinate Junior is to protect Grandma. Hey, that’s the same reason for which we had to destroy our kids’ lives for the last year, which we obediently did, so we all “know” this is the next necessary step. No questions please. But since I’m too dumb to know I’m too dumb to ask a question I’m going to ask a question. Remember way back four or five sentences ago I mentioned “cost/benefit”? So as I said, here we’re dealing with, for all practical purposes, a zero benefit to your child but an infinitely unknowable risk. Those are mathematical, inarguable, absolute facts. Anyone who tells you differently is a liar or an idiot. The risks to the future health of your children (or someday your children’s children) are by definition completely unknowable so before you drive Junior and Sissy to your friendly neighborhood inoculation center, think about what you’re doing. As a parent you will know what I mean when I say there is nothing I would not do to protect my children from harm. Nothing. I’m sure you agree. So why then would you even consider handing your kid over to somebody with a syringe who says to you “Let us inject this stuff which will provide effectively no benefit to your child into your kid’s arm and then come back in 20 or 30 years to tell us if something went wrong.”? Maybe, hopefully, even probably, the answer will be “nothing went wrong”. But why would you take that chance for no benefit? Why has it become crazy (or criminal) to “take the chance” of living like every single human being on the planet lived prior to January of last year (no double masks, washing your mail, or hiding under your bed) but it’s not crazy (or criminal) to “take the chance” of future consequences from a “vaccine” which has never been used like this on human beings in the history of human beings? Remember what's happening here. The "vaccine" is delivering "instructions" to your body to produce a viral protein. Most of us freak out at the thought of feeding our kids genetically modified food but you're going to let your child's human body (or your body for that matter) produce a viral protein? SCIENCE! The history of medicine is rife with “Today’s cutting edge technology is tomorrow’s foolhardiness.” Rife I say. As I have asked before, what would your reaction be if you saw an obviously pregnant woman drinking at a bar or a six year old smoking a cigarette outside a restaurant (those are places people used to go to eat, drink, and enjoy the company of other human beings)? Or how about if you saw a small child playing by the street with no parent in sight? Of course your reaction would be to want to protect that child. But in this case what the hell, roll up your sleeve Junior and get ready to put a cool sticker on your shirt. And as far as Grandma is concerned, vaccinate every grandma in America as often as they want to be to “protect” them (by the way, if the vaccine works she should have nothing to fear from Junior), but has anyone ever thought to ask Grandma if she wants her grandchildren subject to what could reasonably be labeled human experimentation and a crime against humanity to “protect” her. What grandma would say “absolutely”? What grandma would take even the slightest risk of causing harm to her grandchildren to “protect” herself?
Look, vaccinate your kids, don’t vaccinate your kids, at the end of the day it’s really none of my business. But this insane mission to drive COVID cases to zero and to try to create a world free of any risk at any cost has to stop. It will be the death of us all. As Aretha Franklin once said “You better think about the consequences of your actions.”
