So you may remember back on 8/16 I posted a piece entitled “COVID – IS FLORIDA BECOMING A ‘DEATH CULT’?” in which I detailed how MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski railed, through quivering lips and tear-filled eyes, against the southern states (especially Florida) for allowing themselves to be infected with what she called the “DeSantis Variant” which led Florida and other southern states to end up in a “Death Cult”. This because they declined to follow the dictates of the “experts” as well as the very heartfelt exhortations of the very sophisticated and also very intelligent people who populate the mainstream media as it pertained to what we all “know” we MUST do to save the world from the evil coronavirus. Here’s what Mika had to say on August 9th (caps mine). “Now, these same GHOULISH DEATH CULT FIGURES are fighting vaccines…” And The DeSantis variant is “WHY one in four new Covid (sic) cases are coming out of FLOR-I-DA!…the state is WEEKS AWAY from yet another full-blown MEDICAL CRISIS.” And finally she laments that many “misguided Americans [have] followed ‘the crazed teachings of a GROWING DEATH CULT’”. Now I showed in that post that Florida's vaccine numbers were about the same as New York's (and in some respects better) and asked why Mika wasn't attacking New York. Alas, no response. Oh well, moving on...
I then posted a follow-up piece on 10/1 entitled “WHAT (EXACTLY) THE HELL HAPPENED IN FLORIDA?” where we looked at the path of “cases” in Florida since Mika sounded the alarm and how the vaccine may or may not (spoiler alert – the correct answer is “may not”) have played a part in said path. The funny thing is, if there’s anything funny about it at all, is Mika vomited out this very caring and pressing observation (especially how Florida was just “WEEKS AWAY” from Armageddon) just mere DAYS before stupid southern states began to turn the corner and cases started declining. A normal person would probably be embarrassed that their hysterical diatribe proved so horribly wrong and said diatribe may have ignited further panic and anger in those who listen to such vapid morons as good old Mika, but has anyone heard from Mika or any of her sycophantic acolytes in the media who were cheering her on? An apology? A correction? I think not. What a surprise. If you’ve been paying attention at all over the last 20 months, you will know that a certain segment of our population has made innumerable predictions of doom and gloom; none of which have come true. NONE. Below is some actual SCIENCE AND DATA. These are nine southern states, their ranking amongst the 50 states (plus DC) in what percentage of their population is vaccinated (with that percentage in parenthesis), when their cases peaked, and by what percentage they have fallen since peaking.
So with an average ranking of 40th in the country with just an average 48% vaccine coverage, these states have seen case rate declines of some 79% over the last six weeks or so. What happened? Mika told us in no uncertain terms that FLOR-I-DA was just weeks away from “another full-blown MEDICAL CRISIS" and yet, it didn't happen. If you're one of those people who think you "know" something about COVID because you listen to the "experts" and mainstream media idiots, how do you explain this? Why, in the face of a poorly vaccinated, really really stupid population of death-culters, science-deniers, freedom-lovers, and flat-earthers did the virus suddenly turn tail and run away? Maybe it was all the guns those hicks own, or maybe it was the tobacco they all chew, or the beer out of a can they love to guzzle for breakfast. Can Mika explain this? Little Tony? Shuffling Joe? Anybody?
Cultural oddities notwithstanding, the serious question is how do you explain these case decreases in the face of such poor “DEATH CULT” vaccination numbers? I’d really like an answer. If the vaccine is our “only way out” of this pandemic, then how do you explain what we just saw in not just a town, or even a state, but an entire region of the country? Why did the virus not continue its unabated "explosive" increase and kill everybody? After all, a "DEATH CULT" would be a group of people who engage in activities that stand a very good chance of leading to death of its members. Why is there anyone still alive in the southeastern United States? Why is Mika not addressing this? By the way, if you take Florida and Texas out of the equation, the remaining seven states drop to an average of 44th in vaccine coverage but still maintain about an 80% drop in cases. How do you explain that?
So doom and gloom predictions notwithstanding, it turns out the South was just going through the normal seasonal pattern of a respiratory virus that is now, and will be, endemic to this world. I write here not to denigrate the vaccine (it’s doing a pretty good job of that by itself), but to point out once again that if you are listening to mainstream media and therefore you really believe you actually “know” something about the virus, you might want to rethink your strategy. The real folly here is, as I've been saying since my first post on this issue back in April of 2020, the idea that we can somehow "control" this virus is both arrogant and foolhardy. NOTHING we have done in some 20 months has proven to be of any significant effect. And if you believe we have saved countless cases and lives based on reports from models that the "experts" have told you, I've got a couple of bridges to sell you.
Stop listening to the “experts” and mainstream media talking heads. They are liars and idiots all, and they do not have our best interests at heart. If you're really concerned about catching a bad cold, which is all this will be for far more than 99% of the American population, then start eating better, exercising, getting out in nature, sleeping better, socializing in person with other humans, and stop cultivating your fears and anxieties over something you have essentially a zero risk of harm from. Remember, after 20 months of this thing, you're chances of NOT dying from COVID stands at 99.8% at the absolute least. Stop living in fear of dying. It’s no fun at all.
