So I’m sure you’re all familiar with President Joe Biden referring to Texas and Mississippi lifting mask mandates and loosening other social restrictions (Texas has opened completely with no restrictions on businesses) as “Neanderthal thinking”. In case you missed it, you can always count on the mainstream media to reinforce the government’s dictocratic position with blaring headlines like:
“What's behind Texas governor's 'Neanderthal thinking'?” (CNN)
“Thumbs: 'Neanderthal thinking' is not limited to Texas” (Houston Chronicle)
“'Neanderthal thinking': Biden criticizes Texas, Mississippi for lifting mask mandates” (NBC News)
“Biden: End of Texas mask mandate is 'Neanderthal thinking'” (BBC News)
And the list goes on and on. In these articles (and many others) you’ll see statements from other government ne’er-do-wells like Rochelle Walensky, the director of the CDC saying (caps mine for emphasis) “Now is not the time to release all restrictions…The NEXT MONTH OR TWO is really pivotal in terms of how this pandemic goes." What a surprise, another pushing off of the dismantling of the PANIC PORN machine for just another little while (can you say “the next 6 to 12 weeks will be the darkest yet” for the last seven months?). And of course all these “news articles” tout Biden’s line (caps mine for emphasis) "I hope everybody's realized by now, THESE MASKS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.” Often with links to various “proofs” that masks work. As I have chronicled in great detail over the last six months or more, that statement is a complete lie. From every angle with which one could analyze the mask issue, the belief that masks have done anything appreciable at all in slowing down the spread of the coronavirus is provably false. Including from the CDC’s own research. Period. So there’s that.
Well it’s been almost a month now since the Neanderthals raised their clubs in pursuit of freedom and sanity (damn those Neanderthals) and what have we seen? Let’s take a look.
From March 1st to April 4th cases in Texas have dropped steadily some 59%. Deaths are down 64%.
From March 1st to April 4th cases in Mississippi have dropped steadily by about 64%. Deaths are down 63%.
In case you’re wondering about Florida where they were Neanderthals before it was hip and everyone was supposed to be dead there months ago:
From March 1st to April 4th cases in Florida have held steady (up 0.05%) but their deaths are down 49% during that time. This after not just one SUPERSPREADER EVENT in February (Superbowl) but a second just recently (spring break).
Probably all just lucky I guess. Perhaps they’re all just too stupid to know they should be dead. I’m sure if we compare these states to states that actually follow the “science”- you know, where the smart people live, we would see proof of how Neanderthal those Neanderthals really are. Let’s take a look.
From March 1st to April 4th cases in New York have INCREASED by about 5%. Deaths are down 28%.
From March 1st to April 4th cases in New Jersey have INCREASED by about 31%. Deaths are down 39%.
I would ask, “How do you explain that?” but I’ve asked that many times over the last year and have never gotten a non-emotional, data-based answer. So never mind.
One more thing. We’ve all also heard of the coming “fourth wave” and the evil “variants” which will surely destroy us all, with headlines like “As U.S. Covid cases stall, top health officials warn variants could ‘hijack’ nation’s progress”, and these are the reasons du jour for why we should all stay double-masked and under our beds (and of course get vaccinated). You know, why “Now is not the time to release all restrictions.” And while I have often been both amused at the outright stupidity and impressed at the unmitigated brazenness of the lying foisted upon us over the past year, this headline from the San Francisco Chronicle on April 4th is by far the best I’ve seen yet (caps mine because it seems fitting):
“DOUBLE MUTANT' CORONAVIRUS VARIANT SURFACES IN BAY AREA. HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW.”
WOW!! Somebody’s getting a Pulitzer for that one. Say it in an old-timey radio voice to yourself and imagine watching some really bad horror movie in the 1950’s. Same thing. Anyway, here’s the graph:
From March 1st to April 4th cases in the U.S. have decreased by about 8%. Deaths are down 58%.
Now of course there isn’t any actual data of a “fourth wave” full of “double mutants” just as there is no actual data supporting the whole “Neanderthal thinking” thing, but what the hell, there’s always tomorrow.
So cases down in Neanderthal Texas and Mississippi, cases steady in Neanderthal Florida (and by the way also in Super-Neanderthal South Dakota which never did any kind of mitigation nonsense), but cases up in the modern world where electricity and indoor plumbing are all the rage and where all the smart “science-followers” live. Hmm, go figure. So when exactly are we going to stop listening to the “experts”? Asking for a friend.
